Palm Islands-The Eighth Wonder of the World.

It is a dream to have our own island on the water surface , palm islands made it possible. Palm islands are artificial islands (man made islands) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on which beautiful commercial and residential infrastructures are being constructed, these wrathful islands are constructing by the local developer with Dutch collaboration. These islands are mainly of three types

  • Palm Jumeirah
  • the Palm Jebel Ali
  • the Palm Deira

Each Island is designed to be like a date palm tree with trunks and fronds. These will have a large number of commercial complexes, sports stadiums, luxurious hotels, residential complexes.

The first palm island developed was ‘palm jumeirah’ started in June 2001; it has taken four years to get its basic infrastructure. Palm islands are a beautiful wonder in this world, which became the center of attraction for Dubai tourism.

These islands mainly possess swimming pools,multiplexes,sports stadiums,unique water diving,restaurants,water-theme parks. Out of all these palm islands ‘Palm Deira’ is the largest one which is now still under development. These beautiful wonders are developed by ‘nakheel properties’ infrastructure in UAE .

These fat artificial peninsulas are constructed by using sand dredges, the outer edge of these islands are build with a large rock breakwater. Over seven million tons of rocks are used to build ‘palm jumeirah’.After ‘palm jumeirah’ palm jebel Ali is started which used the advanced technology than ‘palm jumeirah’.The ongoing project is ‘palm Deira’ which has a huge demand in all over the world, huge investments are invested on these projects but still it is lagging down because of economic crisis hit.
